The INTERNATIONAL Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) was established in 1969 to save endangered animals, populations and habitats worldwide. IFAW Through projects in more than 40 countries, IFAW is committed to animals in need: dogs and cats, livestock and wild animals, but also animals that are in trouble as a result of a natural or environmental disaster. In addition, IFAW is committed to saving populations that are at risk of disappearing due to human cruelty or other causes, for example through a campaign against commercial whaling.
Mission and promise: IFAW saves and protects animals worldwide and promises both its donors and animal welfare policy makers that it will always strive for effective solutions that go hand in hand with knowledge, compassion and integrity. IFAW rescues and cares for individual animals in need and provides effective solutions that contribute to the sustainable protection of populations and habitats.
